Yesterday, a presentation was held in the Eining-Iðja hall in Akureyri for the union’s representatives, where the role and importance of union representatives were reviewed. The presentation covered the main aspects related to their responsibilities, rights, and duties, along with an introduction to the union’s activities and other important elements connected to the role. Attendance was good, and the session was led by Rut Pétursdóttir, the union’s Head of Human Resources and Education. The Chair and Vice Chair were present at the beginning of the presentation to welcome the representatives and say a few words before Rut continued.
This presentation was intended for both new and experienced union representatives, but in the future, new representatives will be invited to a similar session, as it provides an important foundation for strong and effective advocacy. This presentation was held in Icelandic, but on 2 March an equivalent presentation will be offered in English.
Another session in Icelandic will be offered on 23 March, and the English version will be available again on 14 April.
All union representatives receive an invitation to attend these presentations, and about 20 accepted the invitation this time.
